About This Project
Review Everything is a full-stack movie discovery and review platform developed from the original Figma wireframes. Users can discover trending movies, search for movies and actors, explore detailed profiles, publish star-rated reviews, like reviews, add comments, and browse community opinions. Movie data comes from TMDB, while user-generated reviews are managed through a custom Express API and stored in MongoDB.
TIMELINE
Design-to-Code Foundation
Translated the Figma wireframes into reusable React components, configured routing, and established the responsive neon-inspired visual system.
Movie and Actor Discovery
Integrated TMDB to support trending content, genre collections, movie and actor searches, movie details, biographies, and filmographies.
Community Review System
Built the Express and MongoDB review system with star ratings, review creation, community browsing, likes, comments, updates, and deletion endpoints.
Infrastructure and Testing
Configured Docker Compose, MongoDB and PostgreSQL services, database seeders, Adminer, environment variables, and Jest API tests.
Production Deployment
Completed responsive testing, resolved production integration issues, created the optimized build, and deployed the frontend through AWS Amplify.
