About This Project
Celestial Charm is a full-stack e-commerce and personalization platform inspired by K-pop, anime, fashion, beauty, books, and fandom culture. Users can explore themed products, create an account, complete quizzes, earn virtual gems, manage a cart and wishlist, purchase products, and view their inventory from a personalized dashboard.
TIMELINE
Planning and Project Foundation
Defined the platform concept, planned its core features, established the React and Express applications, and created the initial storefront structure.
Authentication and Account System
Implemented registration, login, protected routes, password hashing, account recovery, forgot-password functionality, and password visibility controls.
Quizzes and User Dashboard
Created knowledge and personality quizzes, added scoring and saved results, and developed the personalized user dashboard.
Profiles and Virtual Currency
Expanded user profiles with quiz information, gem balances, personalized content, and virtual-currency functionality.
Product Collections and Storefront
Built storefront collections for K-pop, anime, fashion, fragrances, jewelry, and other fandom-inspired products.
Gem Store and Purchasing
Added quiz difficulty levels, gem rewards, purchasable gem bundles, product checkout, and gem-based transactions.
Cart, Wishlist, and Inventory
Implemented cart management, wishlists, checkout workflows, and a personalized inventory for purchased products.
Books, Reviews, and Communication
Integrated Google Books recommendations, developed the public reviews experience, and worked on contact and user-submitted content features.
Responsive Design and Content Expansion
Improved mobile and desktop responsiveness, expanded product collections, refined navigation, and polished the visual presentation.
Testing, Deployment, and Presentation
Tested the complete application, resolved final issues, deployed the frontend through Vercel and backend through Render, and prepared the capstone presentation.
